Description
After reading through all the messages, pictures, and videos in the archives, I was deeply moved to write "Appalachia, We Will Rise." Hurricane Helene left a lasting scar on the Appalachian region, bringing destruction, loss, and hardship. But in the storm’s wake, something even stronger emerged—the resilience, unity, and heart of the people who call these mountains home.
This song is inspired by the real stories of those who faced the storm head-on: families who rebuilt their homes, neighbors who lifted each other through the darkest nights, and communities that stood together, refusing to be defeated. It is a tribute to the strength of Appalachia—a region that has endured hardship for generations and always finds a way to rise again.
Whether you’ve lived through a storm, rebuilt from the ground up, or simply believe in the power of community, this song is for you. It’s a reminder that even after the harshest storms, the sun will rise again—and so will we.
